Fichi Imbottiti | Italian Stuffed Fig Recipe

Fichi Imbottiti Recipe

For this recipe, you will need:

  • Dried figs
  • Walnuts
  • Orange peel
  • Cinnamon

Note: ideally dry figs should still be quite soft, but if you find yours are on the harder side we recommend baking them for a few minutes first to soften them a bit.

Preheat an oven to 350 ºF (175 ºC).

Slice each fig in half, but do not cut it completely through. Leave one side attached so that the fig can hinge open.

Inside, place 1 to 2 pieces of walnut, a small piece of orange peel (be sure not to include the white pith of the rind) and a pinch of cinnamon. Close the figs and arrange them on a baking sheet.

Bake for 10 minutes, then allow to cool completely before serving.
